At Vertical, we are passionate about “living sent”. It’s not just part of our mission statement, it’s part of who we are.

We believe that everyone has the opportunity to take the hope and love of Jesus to someone, whether that’s overseas or in their own backyards.

 Serving with Us

We’re committed to helping everyone in our church take their next step of serving others with the hope and love of Jesus. If you’ve never served locally with Vertical before or you’d like to get reconnected, click the button below and we will follow up with you about serving soon.

Crossroads Ministries (Canton, MS)

The Crossroads Ministries facility is a place of refuge in the storm where women can put the pieces of their lives back together. It is a two phase operation. The first is where women come in from prisons, treatment centers, or abusive situations where they find a safe and positive environment for up to 120 days. The second phase places more independence on the women and supports and encourages them to find jobs, start paying rent, and prepares them to live on their own.

Join us in changing the lives of these girls. We can't maintain Crossroads Ministries without the help of our supporters. We provide all of our services free of charge to the women who come to our home, so we need people like you to help us carry the financial burden.

For more information on volunteering or event coordinating, as well as information about speaking or teaching a class, please contact Vicki DeMoney, executive director, at 601-940-5417.

Assisted Living Construction (Rankin, Madison, & Holmes)

A message from Vertical Member, Nora Moss:

I have recently been transferred from Madison to Holmes County as a Home Health P.T. where the majority of my patients are on fixed incomes with poor community resources available.

Holmes County does not have the resources to assist patients with building ramps, adding handrails or performing other modifications to homes to remain in proper living standards.

My request is to develop a team to help provide these services to these people to allow them to leave their home without fear of falling/injury.  If we could pick a designated number of projects each quarter, I feel we can really be the hands and feet of God and provide greatly needed services to this population.  For compliance with ADA guidelines, we will need someone with building experience that is familiar with building specifications and drawing up plans, donations/fund raisers and volunteers to provide the manual labor.  If others want to get involved that cannot provide physical labor, they can provide sack lunches and other refreshments.

I already have identified 3 families that would benefit from our assistance, 1 person that needs a ramp and 2 that need a handrail added to concrete steps. Let’s get started today!

Madison County Nursing Home (Canton, MS)

There are several ways to serve at The Madison County Nursing Home. Some opportunities include volunteering for food distribution, playing bingo with the residents, or being a part of a game night with the residents. There are shopping days that allow volunteers to take a group of people to get out of their residence and to stores and lunch outings. MCHS is always looking to partner with people who desire to serve and care for others.

MS Food Network

The mission of the Mississippi Food Network (MFN) is to relieve poverty-related hunger in our service area by distributing donated or purchased food and grocery products through a network of member churches and nonprofit organizations. MFN feeds about 170,000 people a month and services 57 counties in the state in trying to eliminate hunger. Long time Vertical member, Keith Young, serves on the Board of Directors and loves to connect people with MFN. They are always trying to find donors, volunteers, or partners for the organization.
